I have a love and passion for gaming. I have been playing, designing, and testing games since I was a kid. In my family, we always had game night once a week. We would play everything from card games to trivia games, word games, and more.
As I got older, I became interested in role-playing games, like Traveller, D&D, Top Secret, Champions, and Gamma World. I created rules modifications, invented rules to cover situations not covered in the rulebooks, and crated supplementary materials, such as adventure modules, rules, expansions, computer utility programs for gaming, and more.
One of the things I like most about gaming is coming up with a great gaming system that works, is lightweight, and flexible. I am always on the lookout for exploits that need to be patched, or things that are not working out correctly. When I find errors like these, I forward them to the publishers for correction or inclusion in the next rules addendum.
I wish I had the foresight to see how games like Magic: The Gathering would catch on. I had designed a great card game when I was in high school, but of course, I was a kid and never finished it. I think if I had the resources to develop it at the time, it could have become very popular. I recently came across some of the cards I made and got to thinking, "maybe I should finish that game - it has potential".
I have done a lot of play testing and beta testing for games over the years. I have mostly done beta testing for Atari Computer Games, but also Electronic Arts (EA), and indie production companies as well.
Here are a few of the games I have play tested / beta tested:
